FAMILY SUPPORT NETWORK STAFF DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES SCHEDULE
January March, 2008
Regional sessions for home visitors on home visiting best practices will be held during the months of January, February and March. Two sessions will be held in each region; home visitors should plan to attend both sessions scheduled for their region. Western and Central Maryland: January 4 and February 29 for Centers in Cumberland, Hagerstown, Frederick, Emmitsburg and Westminster. Both sessions will be held at Family Partnership, 7630 B Hayward Avenue, Frederick.
Eastern Shore: January 7 and March 3 for Centers in Salisbury, Cambridge, Federalsburg, Denton, Easton, Grasonville, Chestertown and Elkton. Both sessions will be held at Family Support of Queen Annes, 5441 Main Street, Grasonville.
I-95 Corridor and Baltimore City: January 8 and March 4 for Centers in Aberdeen, Baltimore City, Essex, Annapolis, Denton, Shadyside, Adelphi and Silver Spring. Both sessions will be held at Friends of the Family, 1001 eastern Avenue, 2nd Floor, Baltimore.

March 10 14: Family Support Network Orientation will be held at Friends of the Family. All full-time network staff hired since July, 2002 who have not completed the Orientation are required to attend; part-time staff are encouraged to attend. March 27: Family Support Center MIS Reports Training will be held at New Horizons Computer Learning Center. Network Family Support Center data entry staff and any other network Family Support Center staff involved in data management should attend if they have not had training in this version of MIS reports. Questions about who should attend can be directed to the MIS Coordinator. For information about this training, please contact Steve Gollegly at 410 659-7701, extension 127.
March 28: Early head Start MIS Reports Training will be held at New Horizons Computer Learning Center. April 9 11: Early Childhood Best Practices will be held at Friends of the Family from 9:30 4:00 each day. Full-time network child development staff hired since July, 2002 who have not completed this training module should attend. In addition, all home visitors hired since July 2002 who have not completed an FOF-sponsored training on the Ages and Stages Questionnaire and on Documentation of Early Childhood Observations should attend the second day only, April 10. May 1 2: Family Support Network Spring Training and Staff Development Conference. The Conference is an exciting opportunity for Center staff to get together with their colleagues throughout Maryland for two days of learning and sharing together! The conference will be held at the Carousel Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland. General sessions, networking opportunities, and workshops on a variety of topics will ne provided throughout the two days. All full-time Network staff are required to attend, and part-time staff are encouraged to attend this event.
