Family Support Network Staff Training Requirements

ALL STAFF

All full-time staff will complete the 5 day Family Support Network Orientation within 6 months of hire.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT STAFF

All full-time child development staff will complete the following within 6 months of hire:

Early Childhood Best Practices (ECBP) – 18 hours

CD Specialists only: Supervision of the Child Development Program – 4 - 6 hours

And the following within 1 year of hire:

Understanding and Using the ASQ – 1.5 hours (included in ECBP)

Documentation of Observations – 1.5 hours (included in ECBP)

Language Development and Literacy in Young Children – 1.5 - 2 hours

Mental Health Issues in Young Children – 1.5 hours

All Directors will complete the following within 1 year of hire:

Early Childhood Best Practices Overview – 1.5 - 2 hours

All home visitors will complete the following within 1 year of hire:

Identifying and Responding to Adult Mental Health Issues – 1.5 - 2 hours

Case Management Skills – 1.5 hours

Goals and Documentation – 1.5 hours

Documentation of Observations – 1.5 hours (participate in day 2 of ECBP)

Language Development and Literacy in Young Children – 1.5 - 2 hours

Understanding and Using the ASQ – 1.5 hours (participate in day 2 of ECBP)

All service coordinators will complete the following within 1 year of hire:

Identifying and Responding to Adult Mental Health Issues – 1.5 - 2 hours

Case Management Skills – 1.5 hours

Goals and Documentation – 1.5 hours

Staff doing data entry will complete the following within six months of hire:

FOF-MIS Data Entry – 6 hours

FOF-MIS Reports – 6 hours

Additionally, each Center doing data entry must have 3 staff trained in the

most up-to-date version of FOF-MIS at all times.

Adult Educators will have documented (to be monitored by PC) completion of:

PLATO

Contextual Learning

Running a Classroom

Documentation (including Literacy Works)

Working with Learning Disabled Students

All van drivers will have current, documented certification (to be monitored by PC) in:

CPR and Basic First Aid

Car Seat Safety
